FPL has successfully finished constructing its pilot clean hydrogen facility in Okeechobee County. The Cavendish NextGen Hydrogen Hub represents a significant pilot initiative aimed at providing FPL with valuable insights into clean fuels and their potential advantages for customers.

The Edison Electric Institute (EEI) has honored Florida Power & Light Company (FPL) with its Emergency Response Award for the company’s efforts to restore power to customers in the aftermath of Hurricane Idalia.

The 2023 hurricane season ends today, and thankfully FPL customers were spared a direct hit. While not everyone was spared, FPL's investments in strengthening the energy grid are paying dividends and improving our resilience against Florida's increasingly severe weather.

FPL's Panama City-based power generation team had the winning recipe after employees bid on some 60 cakes and pies to raise money for local nonprofits. The annual fund drive – now in its 18th year — raises money for United Way of Northwest Florida and other charities it supports, including Arc of the Bay in Lynn Haven.

FPL is proud to announce that the first-of-its-kind clean hydrogen pilot project in Florida reached a significant construction milestone this month – the production of hydrogen.
