Florida Power & Light Company (FPL) restored power to more than 85% of customers impacted by Hurricane Isaias, with restoration essentially complete in six of the eight affected counties. FPL also restored power to all critical infrastructure facilities and schools that are scheduled to be open Tuesday, Oct. 13.
Crews continue making progress in the hardest-hit areas of Escambia and Santa Rosa counties and remain on track to essentially complete restoration there by the end of the day Tuesday.
Even after power is restored, some customers may continue to experience outages or flickers as crews identify and repair additional storm-related damage that was not immediately visible.
A word from FPL President and CEO Scott Bores: “Thousands of men and women are working around the clock, navigating downed trees, debris and difficult conditions to reach our customers in Santa Rosa and Escambia counties. We will keep pushing forward safely in all counties until every customer who can receive power is restored.”
