More than 1,000 FPL employees plug into communities throughout Florida during “Power to Care” Week [VIDEO]

More than 1,200 FPL volunteers participated in 26 community volunteer projects throughout 11 Florida counties during FPL's fifth annual Power to Care Week, March 4-9, 2013. Volunteers, including employees, friends, families and executive leadership, rolled up their sleeves to  spruce up parks and beaches, paint public school hallways, build furniture for kids in need and perform many more tasks to help their local communities - all in an effort to give back to the communities where volunteers and employees live, work and play.

"Doing the right thing is one of our core values," said NextEra Energy President & CEO Jim Robo, who volunteered at the Power to Care Day event at Loggerhead Marinelife Center. "My family and I have been coming here for ten years. We're neighbors! It's important for us to give back as a company and I am really proud of our team."
