FPL's Tony Newbold appointed to Greater Boca Raton Chamber of Commerce, board of directors

JUNO BEACH, Fla. -- Florida Power & Light Company’s (FPL) External Affairs Area Manager, Tony Newbold, has been appointed as a member of the board of directors of the Greater Boca Raton Chamber of Commerce.  The chamber is composed of more than 1,700 companies representing more than 35,000 employees. The chamber and its committees focus on issues such as education, public affairs and economic development in the Boca Raton area.

Mr. Newbold is responsible for FPL’s government affairs and community relations in Southern Palm Beach and Northern Broward Counties. He joined FPL in 1970 and has held numerous positions in Engineering, Residential Services, Commercial Industrial Services and External Affairs.

Mr. Newbold has been involved in community service in Palm Beach and Broward Counties throughout his FPL career. He currently serves as chairman of the Delray Beach Chamber of Commerce and is chairman of the Board of Governors, West Boca Medical Center. He has chaired the Florida/Puerto Rico Affiliate of the American Heart Association and is also a board member of Old School Square, John Knox Village, DeVos Blum YMCA and previously chaired the Pompano Beach and the Boynton Beach Chambers of Commerce.
