Shatas named incoming chair of Greater Fort Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce

JUNO BEACH, Fla. – Lynn Shatas, area manager of external affairs at Florida Power & Light Company (FPL), was named incoming chair for 2007 of the Greater Fort Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce (GFLCC), the largest chamber of commerce in Broward County.

Shatas has been a member of the GFLCC since the mid-1980’s and has worked with Broward County’s community leaders and elected officials on a wide range of issues and projects.

Shatas, a Davie resident, joined FPL in 1969 and earned her bachelor’s degree in human resources management from Florida Atlantic University, master’s in business administration from the University of Miami, and a business certification from the Brookings Institute.  She has held various positions at FPL and in her current position is responsible for government and community relations in Broward County.  She is involved with a number of organizations, including the United Way of Broward County, Greater Plantation Chamber of Commerce, Port Everglades Association, Broward Workforce Development Board and Broward Beautiful.
