FPL's Wesley elected chair of the Investor's Council of the Broward Alliance

JUNO BEACH, Fla. – Ben Wesley, area manager of external affairs at Florida Power & Light Company (FPL), was elected chair of the Investor’s Council of the Broward Alliance.

In this role, Wesley is responsible for guiding policy decisions for the Broward Alliance, which is working to build a stronger and more diversified economy by promoting increased public/private sector collaboration, delivering business development initiatives focused on new investment and job growth, enhancing the competitiveness of Broward County’s business climate, and driving regional initiatives.

Wesley is also an executive committee member of the Broward Alliance, serves as chair of the corporate partnership committee for the Broward League of Cities, and is a trustee of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce.  He is a former chair of the Broward County Zoning Board.

Wesley joined FPL in 2002 from Miami-Dade County government where he served as chief of staff for the chair of the Miami-Dade County Commission.  He also headed his own consulting firm, Florida Strategic Consulting, which handled public and governmental relations for corporate clients as well as campaign strategy and direct mail for political candidates.  Wesley earned his undergraduate degree from Oklahoma State University.
