Florida Power & Light Company reminds customers to be safe while the tropical wave passes through the area.
(Photo: http://www.newscom.com/cgi-bin/prnh/20010621/FPLLOGO ) FPL offers these safety reminders: * Don't drive or walk into standing water. * Don't go near any downed power lines. * Consider all wires as being energized regardless of whether they are electrical, cable television or telephone. * Do not venture out in the dark because it is difficult to see a downed power line that could still be energized and dangerous. * Do not attempt to remove or trim foliage within 10 feet of a power line.
If power goes out, we'll get it back on as quickly as possible with as little inconvenience to our customers as possible. While this storm is still in the area, we'll have extra crews available to restore power and extra service representatives available to take your calls.
FPL advises that if you lose power, check all circuit breakers or fuses to help determine if your outage might be the result of a household problem. To report an outage call FPL at 1-800-4OUTAGE. Customers should have an account number or telephone number available when they call.
