FPL's Aletha Player joins Woman's Fund Board of Directors

JUNO BEACH, Fla. – Aletha Player, area manager of external affairs at Florida Power & Light Company (FPL), has been named to serve a two year term on the Board of Directors of the Women’s Fund of Miami Dade County. The Women’s Fund is an organization known as a catalyst for social change and economic justice. Its mission is to create a community environment where both adult women and teens are able to realize their full social potential.  The organization achieves its goals through grants, advocacy, training and community building skills.

Ms. Player has more than 30 years of utility experience including managing both the technical and non technical areas. She was appointed as a member on the Board of Trustees of Aventura Hospital and Medical Center and also serves on the Florida State Conference of NAACP Board of Advisors. Currently she is Vice Chair of the Aventura Marketing Council, serves on the Board of Governors of the Miami Beach Chamber of Commerce as well as the Board of Directors of the Miami Dade Chamber of Commerce.  Formerly, Ms. Player completed a two year term as Chair of the Board of the North Dade Regional Chamber of Commerce. She has served on the Board of Directors of Community Crusade Against Drugs and completed a three year term on the Florida Bar Grievance Committee 11 “A”.
