FPL's Energy Encounter and the Elliott Museum Invite You to Celebrate History
November 3, 2000

FPL and the Elliott Museum invite residents and visitors to a 75th anniversary celebration for Martin County and Florida Power and Light. This month's "Wonderful Wednesday" program for adults will take a look back in time. As part of a year-long celebration for FPL, the Energy Encounter will host the party on Wednesday, November 8, from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m.

Anniversary activities for the event will include members of the Martin County Historical Society dressed in period clothing. Antique vehicles will travel from the Elliott Museum for display at the Energy Encounter. Special exhibits of historic photographs of the area from the FPL Museum and the Elliott Museum will be presented. Antique electrical devices will be compared with modern-day equipment. The event is free and refreshments will be provided.

Please call 1-877-FPL-4FUN (1-877-375-4386) for additional information. The Energy Encounter, an energy education center sponsored by Florida Power & Light Company, is located at FPL's St. Lucie nuclear plant on A1A between Stuart and Ft. Pierce.
